Eat MORE over Christmas…

Today, I just wanted to share a healthy recipe…

It's not low in calories.

It's not low in fat.

It's not particularly low in carbs.

It's not low in anything, but it is in fact HIGH in everything under the sun that's good for your body…

Just about every vitamin, mineral, antioxidant, and phytonutrient on the planet!

And this goes back to what I mentioned in a recent email about how to keep your health high, and the weight off this Christmas.

On the surface, eating lightly all day when you know you’re going to overindulge later can seem like you’re doing something good…

But it can actually backfire, leading you to eat and drink even MORE than you expected because you are so hungry.

Eat More…

So EAT MORE during the day…and add lots of stuff to your meals.

Quite a few of the foods you eat over Christmas are probably going to be lacking in nutrition, so just once in a while give your body the right food, and plenty of it.

By doing this, your body will receive all the nutrition it needs to maintain optimal hormonal balance and function at its highest capacity…

And keep your appetite satisfied for hours, and reduce any unwanted cravings.

Keep in mind that last point.

When you fill your body with all of the nutrients it needs on a daily basis, you pretty much totally eliminate cravings!

Super Salad Recipe

The Ultimate Salad (I couldn’t think of a better name!)

– A bunch of spinach leaves

– A bunch of mixed leaf lettuce

– Some shredded carrots

– 1/2 a ripe avocado, diced

– 2 hard boiled eggs, diced

– A handful of chopped pecans

– Some dried cranberries (Christmassy, right!)

…All topped with splash (or more?) of extra virgin olive oil.

Mix it all together and you've got one delicious and ridiculously nutritious salad.

Why it is so health…

Alright, now let's look at the approximate macronutrient breakdown:

This salad is quite high in fat, which means it is quite high in calories too…

Now before you throw your arms up in disgust and call me crazy for recommending such a high fat, high calorie meal, keep in mind and make the amount you need.

I have purposefully used vague ingredient sizes.

It is pretty hard to over eat spinach and lettuce leaves.

Every last gram of the fat in this meal is VERY healthy…

From the pecans, the olive oil, the fresh avocado… and yes, even the fat from the egg yolks is good for you!

How about the carbs?

Well, yes there is a bit of carbs in this salad, but there is also quite a lot of fibre from the carbs.

The healthy fats and protein in this meal will slow down the carbohydrate digestion, giving you a healthy glycemic response and steady controlled blood sugar.

Power of Protein…

At Plan B Fitness, we talk A LOT about protein…

In this salad, there is actually quite a lot of protein from the hard boiled eggs.

Also because this meal has a whole lot of healthy fats, they will increases the utilisation of your protein.

Overall, with this salad, you've got a great mix of healthy fats, good fibrous carbs, quality protein, and a huge diversity of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other trace nutrients.

Just to add here, if you follow Weight Watchers, or any other diet that is still anti-fat.
